Tony Green's Corner

This page of the site is designed to provide additional insight into Tony Green that would be hard to gather from the basic bio, life and work histories. I will update this from time to time moving forward.

During the time I am not at work or at home I serve as at the Vice President of Workshops for the Silicon Valley American Marketing Association (SVAMA).

My primary task is to provide workshops related to marketing that our attendees can get something positive to take back to their workplaces and which supports the mantra of our chapter which is to Connect and Inform.

The most challenging portion of creating the workshop is deciding the topics and finding high-powered speakers. How do you the topics get decided? I get numerous offers from people wanting to conduct a workshop throughout the year. As guidance there is a yearly membership survey that goes out that asks what topics the membership would be interested in.

The easiest method is to read marketing materials and pay attention to news and magazines, these media give good insight on what marketers will be addressing in the workplace.

The key is if you have quality topics and promote the workshop in a timely fashion then the turnout will be fine. If one of these is not up to snuff then problems will result.

Ultimately, the professionalism of the speakers who volunteer their time and effort on top of their busy professional lives to support is which really makes it work. My gratitude goes to them as without them there would be no workshops.

Here I am introducing one of our speakers.
